Larry Lewis Wins KOTH !!!
On Thursday, January 12, 2006 Larry Lewis figuratively "ran the table", going undefeated to win his first "King of the Hill" 9 ball tournament at Highpocket’s. He defeated Stevie Wilson, Waymon Earnest, Ray Glidewell, Henry Goodman, and finally Steve Partain en route to victory.
Larry, who plays in the Tuesday night 8 ball league, (for more than 4 years running) and is a Thursday Night 9 Ball regular, had to call on all of his experience as a league and tournament player to defeat 6 strong players in a row. Larry said it was a "big thrill" for him, especially... He’s been known to marvel at the high handicap players, and their abilities... it certainly seems that Larry has taken that appreciation and turned it into valuable knowledge, which he used to propel his game to a new level.
The "King of the Hill" tournament is held periodically for those players who have qualified by finishing in the money in a weekly nineball event and played a minimum of four times.
Congratulations to a super-nice guy and fierce competitor Larry Lewis. "All hail King Larry!"
